Why he might be annoying:

Once in high school he knocked out a teacher who was trying to keep him from leaving class without permission. The school's craven administration refused to punish him saying the teacher should not have tried to physically restrain him.
Although he did win the gold medal at the 1984 Olympics, his performance was not impressive and was marred by the absence of Cuban and other Soviet bloc athletes due to their boycott.
He didn't take a very good punch with all three of his professional losses by knockout.
    He lacked significant physical strength.
His acting career never took off.
Considering what was predicted for him; his overall boxing career has to be considered a disappointment.

Why he might not be annoying:

He did win two world titles in convincing fashion.
He was one of the greatest amateur boxers of all time and has absolutely the greatest amateur record of all time.
In winning the New York City Golden Gloves championship five times, he went 21-0 with 19 KO's with 14 of those in the first round!
At six foot two he is the tallest welterweight champion of all time, and made superb use his height advantage in the ring.
He had great basic boxing skills, possessed excellent punching power in his right hand and one of the all time great left jabs.
He became a very successful trainer of other boxers after retiring.
