    Born in Manhattan, New York
AKA Miss Bank$ and Yung Rapunxel
CDs include ‘1991’ and ‘Broke with Expensive Taste’

Why she might be annoying:

Her father died of pancreatic cancer when she was two years old — which she considers the catalyst for her mother’s increasingly abusive streak.
She ran away from home at age 14 to live with an older sister.
She lists Beyonce and Rihanna as influences.
‘ATM Jam,’ featuring Pharrell Williams, was set to be the second single released on ‘Broke with Expensive Taste.’ It was subsequently removed.
Be prepared for a good deal of unfiltered profanity in her music.
One commentator describes her as having ‘that hot New York temper where she will pop off if you cross her the wrong way.’

Why she might not be annoying:

Her alter ego Yung Rapunxel was based on a long Rapunzel weave she wore working at Starbucks as a teenager.
She wrote songs as an outlet for her failure to carve out an acting career.
She regards Crystal Waters and Aaliyah as inspirations.
Though neither made the final cut, she collaborated with Lady Gaga for a few ARTPOP songs.
As steep as her call for more than a hundred trillion dollars as restitution for their ancestors’ enslavement is (that’s 14 zeros), she regularly speaks out on black civil rights issues.
