He ran for a seat in the House of Representatives as a Republican, but lost (2000).
He's a fan of the ultra-conservative Heritage Foundation.
He admitted to plagiarizing part of his final paper in a history of aviation course.
As far as Hollywood is concerned, he said it's better to 'come out as a drug addict than it is to come out as a Republican.'

He flew planes for the United States Air Force, and later, flew commercial aircraft.
He's known for his use of satire and wit on his radio show.
Though he remained philosophically conservative, he withdrew his support of the Republican Party because it had no fiscal accountability.
He's worked with numerous organizations, including Easter Seals, Disabled American Vets and Children's Hospital.
He graduated Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
