Why Havana, Cuba might be annoying:

The city was burnt by buccaneers in 1538.
It was looted in 1553 and 1555.
In 1762, Great Britain seized Havana during the Seven Years' War. This led to numerous slaves being brought to the city when the port was opened to free trade.
The city was exchanged for Florida in 1764.
Americans flocked there during the 1920s Prohibition Era.
The Barry Manilow disco hit, 'At the Copacabana,' referenced the city.
A lame 'Dirty Dancing' movie sequel, 'Havana Nights' was set there (2004).

Why Havana, Cuba might not be annoying:

During the colonial era, Havana was nicknamed 'the Pearl of the Caribbean.'
It was the main port of the Spanish colonies in the New World.
Prior to the Communist Revolution, the city was renowned for its nightclubs and gambling.
It is the birthplace of Salsa Queen Celia Cruz.
The Mojito and Cuba Libre cocktails were invented there.
Havana gave the world internationally known musical genres like the rumba, mambo, cha cha cha, and bolero.
It remains a prime tourist destination for Canadians and Europeans.
In July 2005, the city took a direct hit from Hurricane Dennis.
