Why he might be annoying:

    He named his patent for the Cray-1, 'Computer Vector Register Processing Supercomputer.'
    The silicon chips used in the CRAY to were so intense, it would melt the system.
    His company, Cray Computer Corp., filed for bankruptcy (March 1995) and closed soon after.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He served in World War II.
    He developed computers for the Navy.
    He earned a master of science degree in applied mathematics at the University of Minnesota (1951). He has been described by his peers as the Thomas Alva Edison of the supercomputing industry.
    He was killed in an automobile accident at 71.
