    She only remained enrolled at school for three months before returning home.
    The book of poetry she published with her sisters sold only two copies.

Why she might not be annoying:

    Her mother died when she was three.
    Her professor praised her as having 'a head of logic and a capability for argument, unusual in a man, and rare indeed in a woman.'
    Contemporary critics hail Emily as the most talented of the Brontës.
