Why he might be annoying:

His teams have had lackluster success during his ownership.
He sold the Capitals to AOL executive Ted Leonsis, citing the team wasn't profitable enough.
He allowed Michael Jordan to have total control over player and coaching personnel decisions which led to the team's demise in the early 2000's.
His decision to allow Jordan full control forced then GM and franchise legend Wes Unseld out.
He watched the Bullets/Wizards go 23 years of either playoff futility or missing the playoffs habitually before the team produced a decent playoff run.
His decision to rename his NBA franchise 'Wizards' drew ire from the African-American community since it is a term to describe the highest rank in the KKK.

Why he might not be annoying:

He financed the construction of both the Capital Center and the MCI (now Verizon) Center arenas with his own money.
When the Bullets name was becoming frequently associated with criminal activity and homicides, he changed the team's name to the Wizards.
He watched the Capitals make a run to the Stanley Cup Finals during the final year of his ownership (1998).
He and his wife are heavily involved in various charities within the Washington, D.C. area.
He has a humanitarian award named in his honor in the D.C. area.
After selling both the Capitals and Mystics, he was able to spend more time improving the Wizards on court product.
