Why he might not be annoying:

He wrote his first computer program when he was six-a virtual calculator to help him with his math homework.
His childhood teachers and classmates remembered him as a bright student who excelled in English, math, history, and computing, even challenging teachers on the relevancy of some assignments.

His innovation also paved the way for the development of e-commerce.
When working on Netscape, he maintained a team-like atmosphere for his employees, such as encouraging them to limit office hours to 50 per week so they won't overwork.
He also enjoys a wide range of interests, such as science fiction, classical music, philosophy, and business strategy.
