    He bounced around the minor leagues for a few seasons, until he joined the Rangers.
    His longest stay with one team was two years.
    His career ended as a result of a knee injury, prior to the start of the 1938-39 season.
    He was extremely undersized for an athlete.

    He was a member of a Grey Cup champion team at Queen's (1924) and a Stanley Cup winning team in Chicago (1938).
    This feat made him one of three active players to have his name engraved on both the Grey Cup and Stanley Cup.
    He was the first recipient of the Calder Memorial Trophy.
    He scored the clinching goal that secured the Hawks second Stanley Cup championship in four years.
    He was credited with expanding and modernizing the officiating structure during his tenure working with the NHL.
