Hockey Player
His nickname during his playing career was 'The Boogeyman.'
He was a journeyman player as his stints with teams lasted no longer then three seasons.
He was considered undersized as an enforcer.
Upon taking over ownership of the Windsor Spitfires, he appointed himself the team's head coach, despite the fact he had no coaching experience at any level.
He recorded over 1,300 career penalty minutes during the course of his NHL career.
He persevered by honing his craft in the minors before earning a roster spot with the Sabres.
He was a member of the inaugural Nashville Predators roster (1998-99).
He, along with Craig Conroy, served as the Flames co-captains (2001-03).
He, along with former teammate Warren Rychel, purchased his hometown Windsor Spitfires and returned the franchise to respectability, after years of frugal ownership.
He successfully rallied his team to a playoff berth, following the passing of the team's captain Mickey Renaud (2008).
He guided the Spitfires to the franchise's first two Memorial Cup championships (2009, 2010).
