1st/3rd baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals (1989-95), Chicago Cubs (1995), Philadelphia Phillies (1996), Baltimore Orioles (1996), Los Angeles Dodgers (1997-98), Florida Marlins (1998), Texas Rangers (1998-99), New York Mets (2000-01, 2004), Colorado Rockies (2002), New York Yankees (2003) and the Montreal Expos (2003)

Why he might be annoying:

Despite being considered the best catching prospect in the Cardinals system, he never played a game at his natural position in the Majors.
His journeyman odyssey began after he signed with the Chicago Cubs.
He holds many irrelevant records, all for a player whose surname begins with Z.
He played on three different teams during the 1998 season.
Despite playing 17 seasons, he spent the majority of his career on teams with a below .500 record.
He was notorious for making throwing errors.

He married his college sweetheart, former U.S. Olympic gymnast Julianne McNamara
He never balked when his manager Joe Torre decided to convert him from his natural position of catcher to the infield.
He is the first player in Major League history to hit a home run for each of the 11 teams he played for.
When he planned his retirement in advance, his manager Art Howe opted to start him at his original position for the final game of his career (2004).
Following his retirement from baseball, he decided to pursue a career in film making by opening up his own production company.
He is a descendant of former U.S. President John Adams.
