Third baseman for the New York Mets (1999-2000), Baltimore Orioles (2000-09), Colorado Rockies (2010) and the Arizona Diamondbacks (2011)
American League Silver Slugger Award winner (2004)

Why he might be annoying:

He was traded by the Mets for Mike Bordick in what is now considered a lopsided trade.
He frequently rotated positions prior to the 2003 season.
He is extremely injury prone.
After agreeing to play for Venezuela at the 2006 World Baseball Classic, he backed out after he wasn't guaranteed the third base position.
He spent the bulk of his career on either underachieving or dreadful Orioles teams.

He is a versatile player.
He became a father of quintuplets (three daughters, two sons - June 2001).
He established himself as the team's everyday third baseman (2004).
He funded a campaign to provide both medical and educational supplies to Venezuelan residents.
He overcame the trauma of watching his father get murdered on a Venezuelan street in a case of mistaken identity.
