The Resume

    (October 22, 1931-July 26, 2015)
    Born in Lowell, Michigan
    Birth name was Ann Stackhouse
    True crime writer
Wrote 'The Stranger Beside Me' (1980), 'Small Sacrifices' (1987), 'If You Really Loved Me' (1991), 'Dead By Sunset' (1995), '...And Never Let Her Go' (1999), 'Every Breath You Take' (2001), 'Too Late to Say Goodbye' (2006) and 'Practice to Deceive' (2013)

Why she might be annoying:

There is uncertainty over whether she was born in 1930 or 1931.
She was let go from the Seattle police force due to extreme nearsightedness.
She began contributing stories to 'True Detective' magazine using the name 'Andy Stack' because she thought a woman writing about crime would not be taken seriously.
'The Stranger Beside Me' became a best-seller partly because of the bizarre coincidence that she had befriended Ted Bundy years before being asked to write a book about an unsolved series of murders in the Seattle area that turned out to be the work of... Ted Bundy.
She said she was initially bothered by 'making a living from somebody else's tragedy.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She met Bundy when they were both volunteers for a suicide crisis helpline.
Her books usually focused on the anguish of the victims and their families as much as the depravity of the criminals.
She was active in the Childhaven and Childhelp support groups and YWCA programs for battered women.
After suffering a broken hip during a book tour (2013), her two sons reportedly took advantage of her condition to steal over $100,000 from her bank account by forging her signature on checks.
