The Resume

    (July 23, 1988- )
    Born in Mexicali, Mexico
    Sergio Alejandro Dipp Walthe
Co-host for ESPN Deportes and ESPN International
Regular contributor for Central America's Sports Center (2013 - )
Appears on shows 'Hot Soccer' and 'Initial Touch'
Sideline reporter on ESPN for Monday Night Football (2017 - )
Attained notoriety for his 30-second sideline report covering a Los Angeles Chargers-Denver Broncos which went viral (Sept. 1, 2017)

Why he might be annoying:

His last name lends itself to one-liners ('dipstick,' 'dick' etc.).
He became a strawman for the Red Pill community's anti-Affirmative Action rhetoric.
He came off as extremely anxious and fumbled over his lines, leading some to believe he was working with a malfunctioning teleprompter in his debut.
He made a seemingly random comment about Broncos coach Vance Joseph (who is African-American), saying his 'diversity and background is helping him out a lot tonight.'
He released an emotional (some would say self-pitying) video playing the 'victim card' in response to the - mostly good-natured - ribbing he received on social media.
In the video he said: 'All I wanted to do was to show some respect, making my debut as a minority on American national TV, the biggest stage out there on the most heartfelt day in this great country made up by immigrants and on some people’s perspective, it all went wrong' (cue the sad violin music).

Why he might not be annoying:

He made for countless hilarious internet memes.
His poor performance was likely the product of 'first-day jitters.'
He majored in Communications at Tecnologico in Monterrey, Mexico.
He has been a commentator on the Mexican men’s national soccer team during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
He was part of the SportsCenter Deportes team that won a Sports Emmy award for on-air talent in Spanish in 2016.
He initially approached his newfound viral celebrity with good humor, first tweeting a 'peace' emoji with a 'wink' face, and then a screenshot of a Google search asking 'how to deal with fame.'
