Why he might be annoying:

His 2010 campaign for Governor of Tennessee included many ridiculous, unrealistic promises.
His official website stated, 'Vote for me and if I win I will immune you from all state crimes for the rest of you life.'
His views on gun control included giving guns to all Tennessee residents (including 'nutjobs') and $10 fines for residents who did not have a gun on them.
He always referred to himself as Basil Marceaux.com instead of just Basil Marceaux.
The fact that Tennessee is the birthplace of Jack Daniels whiskey might explain his behaviors.

Why he might not be annoying:

His campaign during Tennessee's 2010 gubernatorial primaries became a viral hit because of his unconventional ideas and poor speeches.
His unique platform got him mentioned on shows such as 'The Colbert Report' and got him an appearance on 'The Jimmy Kimmel Show.'
He encouraged anyone who disagreed with him to get a group of 25 people, go to the Capital with their guns and tell him he's doing a bad job.
He says he will never take lobbyist money, and feels he owes people money to shake their hands.
