Internet Personality

The Resume

Five second video clip of a rodent turning its head in dramatic fashion (with dramatic music playing in background)
Originally released by CollegeHumor on June 19, 2007
Footage is from a 2001 episode of the Japanese kiddie TV show 'Hello! Morning' featuring Mini Moni
Featured on YouTube, receiving copious amounts of hits within weeks of its initial release

Why Dramatic Chipmunk might be annoying:

Misnomer Alert: The rodent is a prairie dog, NOT a chipmunk!
It has been lauded as 'the best 5-second video on the Internet.'
CollegeHumor released a longer clip of the rodent from the original Japanese TV show and titled it 'Undramatic Chipmunk.'
Not only did the rodent not know it was a huge star, it may well have been dead when the video took the web by storm, since a prairie dog's lifespan is between 5-8 years.

Why Dramatic Chipmunk might not be annoying:

Between its original release and its many parodies, the video has gotten tens of millions of hits.
Its many parodies include a 'Thriller' remix, a James Bond theme and a Darth Vader light saber take-off.
The dramatic music used in the original 5-second clip was taken from Mel Brooks' 1974 comedy classic 'Young Frankenstein' (complete with background thunder).
It was named by People Magazine as one of 'The 10 Wildest YouTube Stars of 2007.'
Weezer used it in their 2008 'Pork and Beans' music video, and South Park parodied it on a 2008 episode titled 'Canada on Strike.'
