Why Colorado Rockies (NHL) might be annoying:

They were a horrendous franchise during their six seasons in Denver.
They only made one Stanley Cup playoff appearance (1978).
That playoff appearance was a result of the team playing in an incredibly weak Smythe division.
They had seven head coaches in a four year span.
They lacked depth and would often trade their star players for players of little to no value in return.
Their marketing slogan was 'Come to the fights and watch a Rockies game break out!.'
Their move to New Jersey was a result of team ownership running out of money to keep the team afloat.
Since their name wasn't trademarked, it was able to be reused ten years later by an expansion Major League Baseball franchise.

Why Colorado Rockies (NHL) might not be annoying:

The relocation to Denver saved the franchise from being contracted.
They were able to have decent attendance, despite the fact they had a horrible on-ice product.
Their logo and team colors paid tribute to the Colorado state flag.
They were the last team Don Cherry coached, before he went into broadcasting full-time.
In an ironic coincidence, they returned to Denver (as the New Jersey Devils) to play the city's current franchise, the Colorado Avalanche in the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals.
The Avalanche have used a modified version of the old Rockies logo as an alternate logo, albeit in their color scheme to pay homage to them.
