His 'Miller Time' nickname came from the advertising slogan of Miller beer.
He was in an AMP Energy Drink commercial.
He recorded 8 losses in his first NHL season.
He played in the 2008 NHL Winter Classic (the first outdoor pro ice hockey game in the U.S.) as the Sabres lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1.
Although being named to the 2010 U.S. Olympic ice hockey team, he was not considered a medal favorite by pundits.
Prior to a game against Switzerland in the 2010 Winter Olympics, the IOC made him remove some decorations off his helmet.
