He is extremely inconsistent in the offensive aspects of his game.
Despite being a mainstay in the Sabres lineup, he was traded to Nashville for nothing in return.
His nickname is 'Goose.'
He primarily plays on the bottom six lines.

He was the first native of North Dakota to earn a full time NHL roster spot.
He originally wore #14 in junior and switched to #28 upon joining the sabres, as the number was retired.
He served as one of the leaders for the Sabres during his stint with the team.
He isn't afraid to use his size to his advantage.
