TV Series
    (September 9, 1995-December 16, 2000)
Live action Saturday AM show about an Indiana boy's high school basketball team with a girl on it
Starred Daniella Deutscher as Julie Conner, Jay Hernandez as Antonio Lopez, Megan Parlen as Mary Beth Pepperton, Reggie Theus as Coach Fuller, Dick Butkus as Coach Katowinski, and Chad Gabriel as Danny Mellon
The show's star, Daniella Deutsher, was in no way believable as a basketball player good enough to play on a top high school boy's team.
The show had major cast changes every season but the last. Parlen and Deutsher were the only original cast members to remain throughout the series run.
The basketball scenes were shot on a stage, not in a real high school, and the court was less than half the length of a regulation court.
Most of the cast was noticeably older than high school age, ala 'Beverly Hills 90210'.
The show approached serious subjects like racism, sexism and drugs in an intelligent manner.
Former co-stars Deutscher and Hernandez were married in 2006.
With the annoying exception of the mandatory jive-talking black guy, the characters were not typical teenage stereotypes.
It has been very popular overseas.
