The Resume

    (October 19, 1956- )
    Born in Sharon, Pennsylvania
Founder of Americans for Tax Reform (1985), the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project (1997) and the Islamic Free Market Institute (1999)
Helped draft the Republican Contract with America (1994)
On the Board of Directors for the National Rifle Association and American Conservative Union
    Columnist for ‘American Spectator’

Why he might be annoying:

He said, ‘Bipartisanship is like date rape,’ ‘It is not good enough to win; it has to be a painful and devastating defeat’ and ‘We are trying to change the tone in the state capitals – and turn them towards bitter nastiness and partisanship.’
Jack Abramoff used Americans for Tax Reform as a conduit for money from his clients until he got annoyed at the amount Norquist took off the top.
His outreach efforts to Muslims drew criticisms that he was giving legitimacy to radicals who endorsed Hamas and Hezbollah and refused to condemn terrorist attacks on Israel.
On NPR, he said of the estate tax, ‘That’s the morality of the Holocaust.’
While lobbying to put Reagan on the $10 bill, he said that Alexander Hamilton is the only person on US currency who was not a president, having apparently forgotten about Ben Franklin on the $100.
Despite opposing government spending, he wants to use millions of taxpayer dollars to build a Reagan memorial in Washington, DC.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a staunch anti-Communist.
He said Janis Joplin’s music is a ‘high point of Western Civilization.’
He said same-sex marriage is not a ‘people-threatening issue.’
Newt Gingrich called him ‘the most creative and most effective conservative activist in the country.’
