The band was originally the backing band for Kathleen Hanna's solo project.
They are feminists.
Sadie left right after they booked their first US tour.
They are trying to start a feminist revival.
JD has a moustache.
Sometimes Kathleen's voice can go a little bit high and out of tune, almost creating a childish element to the songs.
JD used to bleach her moustache, which caused lots of effort, patience and pain.

Why they might not be annoying:

Their live shows include visual and sound effects.
JD is an open lesbian.
They aren't afraid to tackle controversial issues.
Their major label debut has been praised by critics.
Although people may find JD's moustache disgusting, many people adore her because of it and some people even think it's standing up for gay rights.
While still remaining underground, they have a bigger fanbase than more popular rock groups today.
Their song 'Hot Topic' is a tribute to all their influences and inspirations, ranging from female rockers to trans-gendered comedians.
JD sings on the song 'Viz,' which is a day in her life, being a gender-confused lesbian.
