They've changed their guitarist and drummer several times.
Their music is cheesy and has not aged well at all.
Their image borders on homoerotic.
Their lyrics seem to show a great deal of arrogance.
They're constantly bragging about being 'true metal' and the toughest band on Earth, among other things.
Joey DeMaio has said things like 'We play Metal pure, you know. We don't play radio bullshit. We don't suck ass.' and 'This is what we do. And if you like it, good. If not, go fuck yourself.'

Why he might not be annoying:

They once held the record for 'World's Loudest Band,' at 129.5 decibels.
Before joining the group, bassist Joey Demaio worked as a pyrotechnician for Black Sabbath.
They've been together and recording for over 25 years.
They have a very loyal fanbase, who are willing to fly halfway across the world just to see the band.
