The Resume

    (March 16, 1916-January 4, 2010)
    Born in Japan
    Engineer for Mitsubishi
Was in Hiroshima on a business trip during the atomic bombing (August 6, 1945)
Returned home to Nagasaki when an atomic bomb was dropped on that city (August 9, 1945)
Became the only person officially recognized by the government of Japan as surviving both atomic bombings (2009)

Why he might be annoying:

He had considered killing his wife and son with sleeping pills if Japan lost the war.
Although he was the only person officially recognized by the Japanese government, 160 other people also survived both bombings.
He said, 'Having experienced atomic bombings twice and survived, it is my destiny to talk about it,' but did not go pulbic with his story until 2005.

Why he might not be annoying:

Despite being heavily bandaged from the injuries he suffered at Hiroshima, when he returned to Nagasaki, he reported to work.
His boss was scoffing at the notion that a single plane could destroy an entire city when the A-bomb hit Nagasaki.
His wife and children suffered the effects of radiation poisoning.
His hatred of atomic weapons never expressed itself as anti-Americanism.
