Why he might be annoying:

He feels he is typecast in playing costumed historical figures.
While performing Hamlet in Australia, just as he was about to begin the 'To be or not to be' soliloquy he was seized by a panic attack which made him believe he was about to fall over and be sick.
He couldn't go back on stage for three years and had to take pills to calm him down from the panic attack.
He had the London Times crossword puzzle faxed to him on the sets of 'Damien' and 'Love is the Devil' each day.
He received an Emmy nomination for playing Hitler.

He is the only person other than Laurence Olivier to be knighted by both the British and Danish.
He takes on challenging roles (including Shakespearean).
He was a founding member of the Royal National Theater.
He won a Tony Award.
He was an acclaimed Hamlet.
