    Appeared in the films ‘Virtue’ (1932), ‘Counsellor at Law’ (1933), ‘Jimmy the Gent’ (1934), ‘Side Streets’ (1934), ‘The Case of the Curious Bride’ (1935), ‘Dr. Socrates’ (1935), ‘Marked Woman’ (1937) and ‘Numbered Woman’ (1938)
    Third wife of Humphrey Bogart (1938-45)

Why she might be annoying:

    She began appearing on the stage at age five.
    In the movies, she was typecast as gun molls and other tough dames.
    Her two marriages prior to Bogie ended in divorce.
    She was nicknamed ‘Sluggy’ for her violent behavior when drunk.
    She once stabbed Bogart in the shoulder.
    She pulled a pistol on Bogart and threatened to shoot him during a dinner party with Gloria Stuart and her husband.
    She died of alcoholism in a low-rent hotel and her body was not discovered for several days.

Why she might not be annoying:

    At age eight, she was chosen to be part of a delegation representing Portland at the White House and presented a bouquet of roses to President Woodrow Wilson.
    She was a favorite of George M. Cohan, who cast her in ten of his shows during the 1920s.
    She introduced the Broadway standard ‘More Than You Know’ in the musical ‘Great Day’ (1929).
    Bogart, having blamed his two previous divorces on his wives’ careers, made her give up acting.
    Bogart got in more than a few punches of his own during their fights.
    Bogart left her for Lauren Bacall.
