Why she might be annoying:

She has erroneously been referred to as the sister of Marty Feldman.
She attempted suicide in her early 20s by swallowing 70 aspirin, then drank a pint of mustard in water to induce vomiting after changing her mind.
She shaved seven years off her age to make up for a late start in show biz.
She auditioned for the part of Cathy Gale in The Avengers, but lost out to Honor Blackman.
Her serious stage career (Shakespeare, Ibsen, Chekhov, et al.) was overshadowed in the public mind by her vampy/campy role in ‘Carry On Screaming!’
In her 50s, she ended up bankrupt and on welfare: ‘It’s rather awful sitting in a room waiting for benefits and everybody knows who you are.’

Why she might not be annoying:

She recalled, ‘Daddy used to knock me about with his fists, and my mother would egg him on.’
Her parents made her drop out of art school because they feared she might see naked men.
She won a two-year scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA), which was later withdrawn due to her mother’s habit of showing up at RADA during lunchtime and making a scene.
She had a memorably husky voice, with one interviewer calling her ‘a purr in human form.’
The Times of London called her performance as Hedda Gabler ‘one of the experiences of a lifetime.’
