Why he might be annoying
She auditioned for the role of Tatiana Romanova in ‘From Russia with Love’ (1963), but was turned down, reportedly because of her ‘provincial’ accent. (Which seems rather odd, considering that the actress ultimately chosen for the role had an accent so thick her dialogue had to be redubbed.)
Her only acting role after ‘Goldfinger’ was an uncredited appearance in ‘The New Avengers.’ (1976)
She said, ‘It is always very difficult for models to make the transition from photo stills to moving pictures. The better the model the harder the transition, don’t ask me why!’
Why he might not be annoying
One of the reasons she turned down other film roles was the pay: she earned £150 per week for ‘Goldfinger’ (after negotiating her way up from the producers’ initial offer of £50), which she could easily earn in a day of modeling.
She supported her mother and paid for her brothers’ education with her income from modeling.
Mirren described her as ‘impossibly beautiful and kind.’
She said, ‘If you’re only going to make one movie in your life, then why not ‘Goldfinger’?
