    He was passed over in the NHL Entry Draft, despite the fact he was one of the top scorers in the WCHA.
    He was considered a one dimensional player by hockey pundits.
    He was ineligible to play for the Blues during the team's 2003 playoff run, due to his late signing.
    He struggled to stay on the Blues roster full-time.
    His NHL career only lasted 49 games over a four year span.

    He was a strong offensive scorer during his three years at Colorado College.
    He won the WCHA Player of the Year Award during his senior season (2002-03).
    He is the first European born player in NCAA ice hockey to win the Hobey Baker Award.
    He signed with the Blues as an undrafted free agent hours after writing his final college exam.
    He scored his first NHL goal on his first shift (April 11, 2003).
