Why he might be annoying:

He was born into an affluent family. They made their fortune with fertilizer.
He refused to ever visit his native town after it refused to sell him his childhood home.
He and his older brother did not get along. During an argument, his brother called him ‘a filthy queer’ and he called his brother ‘an impotent drunk.’
As he got older, he gained a lot of weight.
His death from a heart attack was rumored to have occurred either during a weight loss spa treatment or a wild evening with two men (Source: Wikipedia).
Shortly before his death, he needed injections to get up from bed, eat and go to sleep at night.
His art gallery flopped.

Why he might not be annoying:

The 1930’s stock market crash forced his family to sell their estate.
He went into fashion design after his art gallery business failed.
His name is associated with couture (high-end fashion).
His signature style is described as classic, elegant and feminine.
His accomplishments paved the way for other male designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferre and John Galliano.
Even decades after his death, his label still lives on through his clothing, gowns, cosmetics, handbags and fragrances.
