Why he might be annoying
He is extremely religious.
He failed to replicate his success in the minors with the Dodgers, which played a factor in the team's decision to trade him after two seasons.
His poor start to the 1993 season, prompted the Braves to trade for Fred 'The Crime Dog' McGriff, who would replace him as the team's starting first baseman.
He was relegated to pinch hitting duties for the Braves for the final months of the season as a result.
His playing career was halted abruptly as a result of the player's strike, in which he opted to retire.
Why he might not be annoying
He fulfilled a childhood dream by playing for the Pirates.
He scored the winning run in Game 7 of the NLCS against his former team, that sent the Braves to their second World Series appearance (1992).
His game winning slide, which beat Barry Bondsthrow to home plate was voted one of baseball's all-time great plays.
He posted exceptional numbers in the minor leagues, which played a role in his call-up to the Dodgers.
His son, Tyler was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft.
