Actor

The Resume

    (March 18, 1961- )
    Born in Brooklyn, New York
Portrayed Elvin Tibideux on The Cosby Show (1985-92)
Appeared on Broadway in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (2013)

Why he might be annoying:

During his first ‘Cosby Show’ appearance, he tried to break the ice with Sabrina Le Beauf by mentioning that they had met previously at Yale, but she did not remember him.
His highest profile post-Cosby acting gig was probably a pair of appearances in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: in one he pretends to be Donavan McNabb until he is recognized as ‘Sondra’s husband Alvin’ from ‘The Cosby Show’; in the second he pretends to be Tiger Woods until he is recognized as the guy who pretended to be Donovan McNabb.
His biggest post-Cosby headlines came when The Daily Mail and Fox News reported that he was working as a cashier and bagger at Trader Joe’s (September, 2018).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He graduated Yale cum laude.
He was a founder and director of the Brooklyn Shakespeare Company.
He has taught acting at Yale and Columbia.
The woman who took the pictures of him at Trader Joe’s claimed she felt ‘really bad’ for Owens. (Yeah, I know whenever I feel bad for someone, I immediately run to tell a British tabloid about the guy’s situation.)
Plenty of actors took to Twitter to point out that an actor having to take non-acting jobs to get by is hardly an unusual situation.
It was also noted that his residuals from ‘The Cosby Show’ dried up after stations dropped the program from syndication during Bill Cosby’s sexual assault trials.
Twitter users also noted that irony of Fox News, which regularly bashes actors as Hollywood elites out of touch with the working class, mocking an actor for working at a regular job.
