Why he might be annoying:

Not just a clown, he is also a mime.
In the video for Bobby McFerrin’s ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy,’ he and Robin Williams compete to see who can most shamelessly mug for the camera.
He noted, ‘I have a letter that I keep on my wall at home that says, ‘Dear Mr. Irwin: I enjoyed you in CSI. My children watch you on Sesame Street. This kind of creeps me out.’’

Why he might not be annoying:

A reviewer wrote, ‘He doesn't so much master physical comedy as he seems to defy the laws of physics.’
He won the Tony for Best Actor in a Play for ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?’
He was nominated for four Tonys (as an actor, author, director and choreographer) for ‘Largely New York.’
He was the first performance artist to receive a MacArthur Foundation ‘genius grant.’ (1984)
The off-Broadway New Victory Theater honored him for ‘bringing the arts to kids and kids to the arts.’ (2010)
