Conservatives accuse her of liberal bias about abortion and many other issues.
Many people feel her coverage of Clarence Thomas' Supreme Court nomination was overly negative and personal.
She once 'joked' that God should give Jesse Helms AIDS for opposing research into the disease.
When an army general said the war on terror was 'a Christian crusade against Muslims,' she said: 'I hope he's not long for this world.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She is one of the most popular reporters on NPR.
'Newsweek' called her the network's 'creme de la creme.'
Despite her lack of education, she's considered one of the best legal reporters in the country.
She is well spoken, and communicates complex legal ideas in clear language.
She's won many awards.
She is credited with breaking the Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill story.
She was the only reporter to interview Hill during the scandal.
She says: 'Whether liberals or conservatives like or dislike [my work] is of no importance to me whatsoever.'
