He broke his rib and shoulder blade in a dirt bike accident following his rookie season (2002).
He was booed mercilessly by Giants fans, after he failed to live up to expectations during his five years with the team.
He made a cameo in the TV series 'Legit.'
He publicly criticized the Phillies front office in regards to contract negotiations after he signed with the Giants.
His career ended after he failed to make the Marlins final roster, despite the fact it was led by Ozzie Guillen, his former manager in Chicago.

His baseball skills were strong enough, that he played on his father's slo-pitch team at the age of 10.
He wasn't afraid to sacrifice his body in order to make highlight reel plays.
He was a member of two World Series championship teams that ended long droughts (2005, 2010).
He is the first cousin of former major league pitcher James Shields.
He is a motorcycle enthusiast and had a custom bike which was featured on 'American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior' named in his honor.
