    Drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 1969 Major League Baseball Draft
    Catcher for the San Francisco Giants (1973-81)
    His nickname was 'The Sheik.'
    He earned the nickname as a result of a clerical error with an Egyptian sheik named Mohammad Ahmed Sadek.
    He spent his entire career as a backup catcher.
    He played no more then 64 games in a season.
    He collected the trading cards of the pitchers who surrendered his home runs and flaunted them in his clubhouse locker.
    His colorful personality made him well-liked by his teammates.
    He spent his entire playing career with the Giants.
    Although he never was a starter, his defensive skills and leadership attributes were considered valuable.
    He served as Robert De Niro's body double for the baseball scenes in the 1996 thriller 'The Fan.'
    He sacrificed his dream of pursuing a full-time managerial career, as he didn't feel comfortable subjecting his children to the nomadic lifestyle that came with it.
