    Born in Saginaw, Michigan
    Starred in the Western serials ‘The Indians Are Coming’ (1930) and ‘Heroes of the Flames’ (1931), and the film ‘Lightnin’ Bill Carson’ (1936) and seven sequels (1938-39)
    Costarred with Buck Jones in eight ‘Rough Rider’ films (1941-42)
    Also appeared in the films ‘The Thundering Herd’ (1925), ‘War Paint’ (1926), ‘The Frontiersman’ (1927), ‘The Law of the Range’ (1928), ‘Morgan’s Last Raid’ (1929), ‘The Westerner’ (1934), ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ (1956), and ‘Requiem for a Gunfighter’ (1965)
    Hosted ‘The Tim McCoy Show’ for KTLA-TV in Los Angeles (1956)
    Inducted into the Hall of Fame of Great Western Performers at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum (1973)

Why he might be annoying:

    He briefly left Hollywood to start his own Wild West show, which went bankrupt in less than a month, costing him $100,000 (1938).
    He ran unsuccessfully for the Republican nomination for an open Senate seat in Wyoming (1942).
    He said, ‘I’ve never been sentimental about my horse. If you want to know the truth, horses are dumb.’

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was an authority on Native American folklore.
    He first became involved in show biz when producer Jesse Lasky hired him to provide Native American extras for ‘The Covered Wagon.’ (1923)
    He served in an artillery unit during World War I.
    He rejoined the military during World War II, rising to the rank of colonel in the Army Air Corps.
