Why they might be annoying:

Religious accounts mix faith, interpretation, fantasy and historical reality making accuracy suspect.
Some Jews do not accept Reuben and them as tribes and accept Manasseh and Ephraim instead (Genesis 48:5-6).
They and the Tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim's pronounced certain words differently from the other tribes, which made them identifiable.
They split into two tribes, (Ephraim and Manasseh).
The descendants of the Hebrews who came to Egypt eventually endured 400 years of slavery.

Why they might not be annoying:

He is famed in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Coat.'
They had a good source of water and were surround by fertile mountains.
Because of their natural resources they were the richest of the tribes.
They were aligned with Benjamin but chose to join the Kingdom of Judah, when Benjamin joined Israel.
In that Rachel was most loved by Jacob, being their first son he was Jacob's most beloved.
His brothers were so jealous of him they sold him into slavery (1910 BC).
He rose out of slavery to become the most trusted associate of the Pharoah of Egypt.
He forgave his brothers who suffered famine and allowed them to come and thrive in Egypt.
