TV Series
    (September 13, 1961-May 13, 1965)
    Originally aired on CBS
Premise: A father and son legal team try to solve cases which are based off of real issues of the 1960s
    Joan Hackett as Joan Miller
    E.G. Marshall as Lawrence Preston
    Robert Reed as Kenneth Preston
Polly Rowles as Helen Donaldson (1961-1962)
It was very political, especially for a 1960s drama series.
Out of generosity, the producers made it so the actors involved get a portion of the syndication money, and as a result, it costs twice as much to air as other black-and-white hour long television shows.
Therefore, it is unknown to today's audiences, despite being very critically acclaimed.
The original father and son legal team in an early pilot was Ralph Bellamy and William Shatner.
Its premise of a father and son team has been done to death by TV shows.
Many of the scripts were written by Larry Cohen.
It had many controversial topics for an 1960's drama, including abortion, euthanasia, 'un-American' activities and movie censorship.
It had guest appearances from Ossie Davis, William Shatner, Carroll O'Connor, Peter Fonda, Jon Voight and tons of others.
It is an inspiration to all other court drama programs that followed.
