(1932),' 'A Bedtime Story (1933),' 'Now I'll Tell (1934),' 'The Spanish Cape Mystery (1935),' 'Thoroughbred (1936),' Hollywood Round-Up (1937)' and 'Unmarried (1939)'
    Died of an overdose of sedatives in Harrisburg, PA at age 49
    She was thrice married.
    She was accused of throwing her alcoholic first husband out of a 7th story window (he landed on an awning, survived, and stated he tried suicide).
    She was fired by Fox Film Corporation after just three pictures.
    Directors found her temperamental to work with.
    Her Broadway debut in 1941 lasted 11 shows and she was never asked back.
    She was a student at New York's Art Student League and studied in music, painting and drama.
    She was required to lisp in her first film role and Hollywood started gossip that she had a serious speech impediment.
    Her impish charm resonated with movie audiences.
    She stated, 'Between pictures I go away. I think that is the best way to achieve happiness in Hollywood, the only way to keep one's perspective. If you stay too close to the motion picture colony you lose your sense of values.'
    She acted in several summer stock plays, including Blanche DuBois in 'A Streetcar Named Desire.'
    Her cremated remains are buried in an unmarked grave next to her third husband.
    She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
