TV Series
    (January 20, 1961-January 27, 1961)
    Aired on CBS
Game show hosted by Jackie Gleason
Premise (episode one): Four celebrity panelists stick their heads through a cutout and try to guess what scene they are in, based on Gleason's clues
Premise (episode two): Gleason apologizes for episode one
Replaced after episode two by Gleason hosting a talk show
It did not matter who won or lost (if the panelists guessed the scene, 100 Care Packages were donated in their names; if they failed, the donation was made in Gleason's name), which sucked the drama out of the show.
The audience could see the scene the panelists were in so there was no playing along at home.
Panelist Pat Carroll's head got stuck during rehearsals.
By the end of the first episode, Gleason was asking, 'What am I doing here?'
During the apology show, Gleason hinted that his coffee cup held something more than coffee.
Disappointingly, the idea of TV stars apologizing for their bombs never took off.
It may be the last time television publicly acknowledged one its mistakes.
Gleason opened the second show announcing, 'We have a creed tonight. Honesty is the best policy,' before discussing what had gone wrong.
Time called the apology show 'an inspired post mortem,' while Variety called it 'the year's lustiest one man show.'
Gleason later joked that the second episode had gone over so well, he and the producers discussed alternating deliberately bad game shows and apologies, but no one would sponsor the game show part.
