Opening narration: In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.
Why A-Team might be annoying
Most episodes were slapped together as little as five weeks before they were shown on TV.
Mr. T tried to quit the show at the beginning of the third season.
Hannibal loved when a plan came together.
Hardly anybody ever died, even if they were shot.
It was full of appalling acting.
In one episode, Boy George kicked down a padlocked door.
The A-Team would build powerful weapons out of things laying around the house.
There was an Atari video game based off of it.
How could they be underground when they were driving around in broad daylight in a highly visible van?
They eventually started working with the government.
It aided the stereotype that all Vietnam veterans are either insane or crack commandos.
It was cancelled in the middle of its fifth season.
Why A-Team might not be annoying
It premiered immediately after the Superbowl.
It was loaded with testosterone.
It portrayed Vietnam veterans as heroes.
It had great lines like: 'I pity the fool who goes out tryin' a' take over da world, then runs home cryin' to his momma!'
It was loaded full of 1980s special guest stars like Hulk Hogan and Rick James.
There will never be an 'A-Team' reunion special because of the death of George Peppard.
It made Mr. T an icon.
