Why he might be annoying:

He turned down the Giants coaching job in 1993 to remain at Boston College.
He is a strict disciplinarian.
Many players don't like him because of his many rules and regulations.
His coaching style is similar to his mentor Bill Parcells.
During his stint with the Jaguars, he never reached a Super Bowl despite playing in 3 AFC championship games.
He had 3 straight losing seasons with the Jaguars (2000-2002).
His deteriorating relationship with Jaguars players was a major factor in the downturn.
He doesn't like to talk to the media.
During his Giants press conference on January 7, 2004, he referred to himself as the 'general.'
He said that injuries are merely a 'state of mind.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He went to the AFC championship game 3 times with the Jaguars.
Sometimes his strict style motivates the team to win.
He won't hesitate to bench starters who aren't performing.
His 1995 Jaguars won four games as an expansion team.
He likes to run a 'smashmouth' style of football.
