Why he might be annoying:

His gimmick in the WWE in the mid-80's was 'Adorable' Adrian Adonis, the first openly gay wrestler. He wore dresses while wrestling. It is regarded as one of the worst gimmicks of all-time.
It is believed Vince McMahon wanted an openly gay wrestler and since no one was willing, he chose Adonis as a punishment for something he did.
He gained a lot of weight and bleached his hair blonde.
During his 'Adorable' days, he hosted a rip-off of Roddy Piper's 'Piper's Pit' segment called 'The Flower Shop' which was a huge disaster and Piper later destroyed the set with a baseball bat.
His last match in the WWE was a hair vs. hair match against Roddy Piper at WrestleMania 3 where his head was shaved clean.
After being fired by the WWE, reportedly due to poor conduct outside the ring, he maintained the gay gimmick with other promotions.

Why he might not be annoying:

Before the 'Adorable' gimmick, he had a biker gimmick and was enjoyable to watch.
Although an accomplished singles wrestler, he did exceptionally well in the tag team ranks, having a great team with Jesse Ventura called the East-West Connection and another with Dick Murdoch.
He and Dick Murdoch were in particular a great tag team and one of the greatest of all-time.
He won a PWI award in 1988.
He ranked #60 in Total Wrestling Magazine's 100 Greatest Heels of All-Time.
His died in an automobile accident on the 4th of July at thirty-four.
