Why Wayward Pines might be annoying:

The premise/mystery was extremely far-fetched.
The critics liked it.
The younger actors were, talent wise, relatively weak links.
It could be hard to follow.
There were several very violent scenes including cannibalism and it made the future look hopeless.
The widely disliked ending was somewhat confusing and quite a downer.

Why Wayward Pines might not be annoying:

The overall cast was sensational.
It gave M. Night Shyamalan a desperately needed career boost.
It was able to boil three novels down to a ten episode series quite effectively.
Most of the fans of the books liked it.
The SFX were very well done and most importantly they were not overdone.
It was a hit in the ratings.
