    Attended graduate school at Princeton
    Got his math Ph.D. (1950)
    Professor at MIT (1951-1959)
    Married Alicia Larde (1956)
    Afflicted with schizophrenia (1959-early 1970s)
    Awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics (1994)

Why he might be annoying:

    His wife had to put up with more than a decade of schizophrenia while he fought treatment.
    Most of his mathematical discoveries are incomprehensible to the casual observer.
    He married one of his students.
    After he became schizophrenic, he went to Europe and tried to renounce US citizenship, but his wife had him deported back to the US.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is played by Russell Crowe in the movie 'A Beautiful Mind.'
    He made significant advances in the field of mathematics.
    He completely defeated his illnesses.
    He, and his wife, were killed in a car accident (May 23, 2015).
