Why he might be annoying
He played on eleven different teams in four leagues combined.
He was one of a handful of European players who elected to play in the International Hockey League as a teenager in order to improve his entry draft stock.
He was suspended ten games after he deliberately hit Mike Modano from behind, causing serious facial injuries to the latter (1999).
Despite being a mainstay on the Ducks blueline, he was allowed to leave as a free agent.
Many Avalanche fans felt he committed treason by signing with the rival Red Wings the following season.
Why he might not be annoying
He was a member of the Ducks team that made their first Stanley Cup Finals appearance (2003).
He set a Ducks franchise record by a defenseman by playing in 594 career games with the team.
He competed for Belarus in international competition.
He enjoyed playing under former coach Mike Babcock, which was a key decision to sign with the Red Wings.
He was on board the Yakovlev Yak-42 passenger aircraft which killed the entire Lokomotiv Yaroslavl team (Septemeber 7, 2011).
