Why he might be annoying:

He was overshadowed by his half brother.
His mother would keep him out of school when Pete dropped by because he 'was better for us than our teachers.'
A few years after Bob Dylan went electric, he noted 'People consider us to be 'old timers' because everyone else has gone over to rock and roll.' (1967)
He was nominated for six Grammys without winning any.

Why he might not be annoying:

He founded the New Lost City Ramblers to play authentic folk music without sanitizing it for commercial appeal like the Kingston Trio.
Bob Dylan wrote, 'It's not just as if he just played everything well, he played those songs as good as it was possible to play them.'
He gave many veteran folk musicians greater exposure by inviting them to join him in concert.
He received a National Heritage Fellowship from the NEA.
He said, 'I feel there's just as much fun in old-time music as there's ever been. People ask me 'Don't you get tired of it?'... I think I could have three more lifetimes and not get tired of it.'
