The Resume

    (April 5, 1951- )
Born in Contra Costa County, California
Charged for the kidnapping, raping, and molestation of Jaycee Lee Dugard (August 26, 2009)
    Husband of Nancy Bocanegra Garrido
Declared fit to stand trial (February 3, 2011)
Pleaded guilty to kidnapping and rape (April 28, 2011)
Sentenced to 431 years in prison (June 2, 2011)

Why he might be annoying:

He abused crystal meth as a young adult.
He was arrested in 1972 for assaulting a 14-year old girl.
His ex-wife Christine Murphy said that Garrido was abusive to her.
He was convicted for the 1976 kidnapping and assault of Katherine Callaway in South Lake Tahoe, California (March 9, 1977).
In court, he testified that he masturbated in his car by the side of grammar schools and high schools while watching young girls.
He kidnapped his victim while she was waiting for the school bus by using a tazer gun to shock her (June 10, 1991).
He held Dugard captive for 18 years.
During her captivity, Garrido was sent back to prison for a parole violation in 1993.
He fathered two children from Dugard.
There were several missed opportunities to arrest Garrido and his wife.
He and his wife were charged with eight felonies including false imprisonment, rape, sexual assault, and kidnapping.

Why he might not be annoying:

His father said that he was a 'good boy' until a motorcycle accident altered his behavior.
He kept Jaycee alive and cared for during her confinement.
His bail was set at $30 million and he faced a punishment of life in prison.
He and his wife changed their 'not guilty' plea to a 'guilty' one.
Coincidentally, his sentencing came just eight days after Elizabeth Smart's kidnapper Brian David Mitchell was sentenced to life in prison.
