The Resume

    (December 28, 1955-July 13, 2017)
    Born in Changchun, China
    Human rights activist
Jailed multiple times by the Chinese government (1989-91,1995-96,1996-99,2009- )
Recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize (2010)

Why he might be annoying:

He ticked off a lot of Chinese patriots when he told an interviewer it would take '300 years of colonialism' to transform the country (1988).
He ignored his wife's pleas to not work on the Charter 08 manifesto that led to his 2009 arrest.
The Chinese government news agency said that his win 'defiled' the Nobel Peace Prize and 'may harm China-Norway relations.'
